In the process of working through photos and trying to get content up to write my next blog post, I came to the realization that I want this blog to be more about general travel and adventuring, less specific to abandoned places, and more about my personal experiences as I wander the wilderness searching for pretty things to take pictures of.
As such, the old Forgotten Roads blog is now the Water and Good Bread Blog, from an Edward Abbey Quote:
Wilderness is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit, and as vital to our lives as water and good bread.
This change has the two-fold goal of allowing me to post more content, more regularly, and also has more of a positive approach to my travels. I find the focus on abandoned places, and general darkness surrounding such topics, casts a darker tone on my adventures than I’d like.
To that end, I want Water and Good Bread to celebrate the strange and wonderful places I find myself in, and to share the beauty of the places I travel and discover as I continue to wander across the country (and maybe the world…)
